The properties I've been looking at are around the 100 to 140 range for a duplex or triplex in a not so nice block surrounded by nicer neighborhoods in a desirable part of town.

Even a title search cannot uncover certain issues.

Or maybe there are 20 people living there and he doesn't want me to see it...The whole point of the inspection is to uncover any potential issues such as electrical/plumbing.

The inspection report was thorough, and did uncover limited asbestos and limited termite intrusion, but nothing I wouldn't expect for a home that age, and nothing my contractor isn't aware of.
