I can tell you that I've never seen them at any mortgage trade show that I've been to, but that this question from newer investors comes up a lot.

i actually lived in Troy before moving to Georgia. and thanks for your suggestions, i will def be going to REIA meet ups. i went to the trade show a couple of months ago to see how it was and all and i enjoyed connecting (though it wasnt really benefit for me at the time) but will def use more time to connect and learn :)thank you !

The trade show has vendors from everywhere - maintenance providers and contractors, property managers, brokers,  bankers, lenders,  government liasons,  etc.

For example, whenever I buy a house in a neighborhood (especially a rental) I always go around the houses near me and introduce myself, hand out my card, and let them know who I am and what I intend to do with the house that I just bought.

At one time our tax assessor’s website would list the owner’s name and partial address, but that isn’t the case anymore.I do like the idea of a finders fee, and will hand out my business card to mailmen and parcel drivers.I’ve looked into the sheriff’s website briefly without any luck, but will try it again.Thanks for your advice Jeff, best of luck to you!
