I completely agree with @Greg H. about HUD...with a little patience and perseverance the HUDHomestore system works for us and is more straightforward/cut and dry than dealing with a non-governmental/regular seller.

is critical and give you the fuel to go after your dreams, have perseverance and don't accept No as an answer; easier to say than to do, but at least it painted a clearer picture for me so overall a great experience to go through it and another one to connect with so man people like you through the community by sharing the result.

Do you think it is setting up proper systems, perseverance, buying multiple properties in the same area, economies of scale, scaling to larger properties like apartment buildings or commercial buildings, etc.? 

It appears that the HOA Lien was successful in that the property went to Auction, and a third party company "PERSEVERANT ORGANIZATION OF PROPERTIES LLC" purchased it on 6/26/2014http://pubrec3.hillsclerk.com/oncore/showdetails.aspx?

Yes, @David Hunter, I have read/heard about that syndrome before....I  did a lot of research before I embarked on the course, and I feel I am under no illusions about the amount of work and perseverance it takes. 

Battle, fight, work, persevere.  

This business is about perseverance, improvising, and some times adding a little sweat equity.  

@Elise Bickel in your experience has it generally been a matter of perseverance or have you seen legitimate roadblocks that shut it down?
