So, in my opinion, the time for this sort of due diligence would have been before you invested (rather than after).At this point if you visit and find a big problem, it's likely going to be like trying to close the barn doors after the cows have already all left.The one possible exception might be if it's a problem investment (which you didn't say it was)...and you are wanting to try to "shake up" management by visiting.Â

I would also recommend ensuring you have a title company do thorough title due diligence and get title insurance.Â

They create the team and a plan, acquire, due diligence, take care of loan products (If needed), oversee construction/renovation, hire property manager (or run in house management,) take care of accounting/taxes/K1s, deal with closing or refinancing.An LP (limited partner) just puts in the funds (after hopefully vetting the GP and team) and keeps fingers crossed while earning mailbox money.Â
