I work full time as a professional staff member at a university in Philly and with the growth of my career in higher education I'd also like to start growing my real estate portfolio.

Looking for advice as to next steps as someone looking to eventually make a career out of real estate.

In my research ive learned a lot about investing and now here to learn more so that i can essentially use investing to fund my real estate career. 

I have been at my University for a year now, and I have been using the GI bill during that time.However when I was at my community college I paid out of pocket with money I saved up, because I have seen many veterans not plan their college career properly, and run out of GI bill funding before they are done.

Also, as you progress along in your investment career, growth becomes less important than wealth preservation ... this is when many investors tend to go lighter on the leverage because their portfolio is already large enough and protecting it is more important than growing it.
