Detractors have said that it's pointless because the $10K in question is still charging you the same amount of interest regardless of whether it's on your mortgage or your HELOC, but that's missing the point and ignoring the benefits of how it works in the real world.

Depreciation recapture when converting to own use

The way I see it, as it is now below 50% business use we should commence depreciation recapture for 2019 (and onwards until we convert it into the primary residence or we’ve recaptured all the depreciation), and as such should recapture the average annual depreciation each year.... or am I missing something..?
