Largely, that's because I love the style of the house and it was fun to bring back to life.

Everything for the permitted property required additional fees, testing, more fees, ripping out good for bad, more time, extra ridiculous Gov't style red tape.

I’ve not stopped to consider the major differences in this style of property vs. a garden style community of multiple buildings and maybe 3 stories at max.

Have you thought about other creative options, like running it pop-up style? 

Mine is a walk-up only and the laundry is down the stairs in a basement, and therefore there is no one to accommodate ADA style.
