The most confident investors I know are the ones who surround themselves with experts in various disciplines (real estate investing is too complex for one person to be an expert in all facets) and actively getting their hands dirty. 

However, I started looking into the city’s comprehensive plan and my grandmother’s property is zoned for med density residential along with the surrounding area.

Or does that mean the house was flooded during Harvey and hasn't been fixed and needs new drywall and insulation and...
