You can't screen without a SS number, so another alternative is to have the tenant get a clearance letter from DHS (Department of Homeland Security).

Josh,I would talk to your accountant during the year as well as the end of the year.Some times you have some flexibility when a property is purchased that allows for alternative in service dates.
