As others have mentioned (besides the essentials like rates, mortgage, and maintenance), it's important to consider utilities, insurance, property management fees, taxes, furnishing, marketing, and legal requirements.

Then find a good property manager and realtor to work with.As others mentioned, you could also buy a place for yourself and rent out a suite or rooms (if you are open to having roommates).

Since I last posted we now have seller lead service, skip tracing, API integration for direct mail and a mobile app for managing your business on the go.

Is there anything else that I would need to or want to know in managing this property?

This is coming from 15 yrs of experience managing rentals in DFW, many of them section 8.

The biggest key will be your Property Manager, Lender and Realtor/Agent to find you the deals. 

It seems like a lot of people have great gimmicky stories about how they get creative when managing properties.
