I always assumed my career would be ruined by moving every couple of years but the concept of REI has given me an alternate perspective.

The podcasts are particularly valuable to me as they provide a sort of mentorship/peer group where familiar concepts are openly explored .  

Prominent moves along in his universe of things we can't know, he shares some well understood known concepts.  

I am also in Minnesota and currently working with lead here whose home was sold at auction in March of 2019 I believe.I have not connected with them yet to get all of their details, but was hoping to understand the concept of buying their redemption rights so that I can better explain what my plan would be.Would you be willing to connect at all for a short phone call, or let me buy you a cup of coffee sometime soon?

Actually I don't really know what I would use it for, the entire concept is new for me.PS. my GF already dumped me, that is why I have all of this extra income to invest now...haha

This can tell you a lot, if they really understand liability issues, legal concepts, their ability to communicate with others, interact with others and if they may be prone to be financially prudent.

I have no experience in real estate but have always been intrigued with the concept of flipping houses.  

I will try to stray away from the oft mentioned (Rich Dad/Poor Dad, well worth it, but I am sure you have heard that):Wall Street Journal.

Most people don't understand math well enough to understand the concepts of variation, deviation, and distribution (think, Bell curve).  

Any book that is accredited by a real estate commission for licensing purposes will be fine, the date won't really matter as to the basic concepts of real estate.
