My point is that people don't know how to Trade with their Money and they look towards Fixed Income Investing vehicles with low or no returns.

Once you have those answers you can calculate your return on investment (ROI) and compare that to potential returns of other investment vehicles like index funds and bonds, then decide whether that ROI suits your long term goals.

I wish I was in my 20s or 30s and had more time but I'm mid-40s so have to keep learning more vehicles (notes, liens, commercial, hard money, ?)

@Sanjeev KaushikThose fees are common, and are reasonable for the services provided, which typically involve a good bit of specialty expertise and ongoing guidance with respect to operating the vehicle in accordance with the IRS rules. 

However, assuming you are able to deploy the capital into a better investment vehicle compared to this current home long term, I would say yes towards selling it.

When compared to term commissions, the ratio is higher per premium payment in a term versus WL or IUL when designed properly.As an administrator of 401k plans, defined benefit plans etc, these aren't to replace a retirement plan or other investment, it's to stack on top of those vehicles.

I've already spoken with a couple of financial consultants about self-directed 401k's, but all I get from their perspective are the specifics/details on how the financial vehicle in question (self-directed 401k) functions.
