Multifamily is the same way unless you get to a certain scale ( number of units).Retail can be passive as well.The first thing you need to decide is how much money you want to invest for your first one??

Manufactures of "cord and plug" units design them to work on a 15 amp circuit since that may be where they're plugged in.A dedicated 50 amp, 220 volt circuit, such as for a range, can provide a lot more power.
