Hey everyone,So I'm looking to buy a house and resell it via owner financing; from what I've read and researched it seems like a smarter decision than renting it out.

I am thinking of purchasing land from an owner directly which also has a small house on the property.

Hello BiggerPockets,I have an owner-occupied duplex and am looking for opinions on the following deduction.

The city has cracked down on STR’s which means they have air b&b data and potentially other sites that they use to find owners who are marketing their properties that are zoned residential and sending them lawyer letters.

An obstacle I'm running into with building my portfolio after analyzing a potential deal is the very high property taxes, particularly on properties that have been owned a long time by the previous owner.

The owner let their insurance company know about them starting to do rentals.
