We agree that they take the trash out, they don't park in the front yard, they don't put indoor furniture on the front porch, and they don't let any stray animals inside.  

I thing most STR owners can attest to the chaos of ordering and putting together furniture.

Now you are stuck with a ton of furniture you have to either give away or store.

The biggest challenge isn't the lease length, it's the furnishings.For instance, a hotel room has furniture, but few additional items.Many investors are turning their fully furnished STRs into MTRs. 

The city offers entertainment, educational, employment choices, and outdoor activities, which translates in appreciation and rent growth for investors.Good Luck!

I also could potentially rent out doors to others once in decent condition.

Now mind you, these are younger tenants, high-end furniture, nice car, etc.. but the place looked gross already!

Say you (or someone you know maybe a client for your contracting business) who REALLY wanted a not-so-necessary home upgrade like a sauna, pool or outdoor fireplace.

@Jon Crosby is spot on with his systems as well though I would recommend Nest Outdoor cams even though they are a bit pricier.  

We also use nest thermostats and outdoor cam to monitor.
