As I have a number of NJ keyword alerts I see questions about Newark and investing in north Jersey (particularly for investors in NY) at least 2 or 3 times a week.

Near Jersey city, Hoboken, or New Brunswick.

To Ethan's Point, finding the "right" price in South Jersey depends a lot on the taxes in the area. 

. $100k is plenty in South Jersey if you know where to look. :) 

I could have just gone 2-3 hours upstate (or in Jersey) and found similar priced areas as Florida.  

This kind of thing has happened to me a couple of times.I can't offer you any advice on the specifics of New Jersey, but I think it is very important that you understand this:  the world contains some unsavory people just the same way as it contains viruses and lightening bolts.

Plus people love to escape there during the holiday season, so you will get rentals in pretty much every month of the year which is greatWay better than people who try to do the Jersey shore or Hamptons and then realize that the 10 week rental season isn’t enough to cover their costs, smh 🤦🏻‍♂️
