Sorting out whose interest is what is more pain than I'm interested in.So that aside, I honestly believe it would cost me less to liquidate some investments than use the bank loan. 

It's also often a pain/expense to deal with the utilities and figure out how to split them between the two tenants or pay for them yourself.

Regardless, of how much planning you do and even with what you think is the perfect partnership agreement there is almost always serious problems and the same pain as getting a divorce.
