I put these words in quotes because the IRS and Dept of Labor and several other Govt entities will see your "contractor" as an employee of your company if you "track" them in the way I think you're referring to.

Im going to assume you are doing this personally not under a entity, since your buying Multi's Id suggest an entity, but talk to a lawyer.The Insurance company giving you the BR policy will have Min Ins limits of liability for your subcontractors.

If you have a reasonable expectation of moving forward I would form the entity first so that you could write all the contracts in that entities names, etc from the beginning.
