@Karen Margrave , my friend Jim has a vacation rental on Lake Michigan in Wisconsin. 3/2, with a King sized bed in the master with attached bath, two-sink vanity with shower/tub and plenty of towel storage in the hallway bathroom, then two smaller bedrooms, one with 2 sets of bunk beds and one with a queen bed.All bedrooms are smallish, while the rest of the house is open-concept.

It is alot easier to find tradesman then a good quality reliable handyman or carpenter so I will typically call the trades for things like leaky toilets or installing a sink.

The rented unit was mostly done except for the fact that after the tenants moved out, we added a new floor, counter top, and sink in the upstairs bathroom and had to replace the carpet after pet damage.

I think that sinking such a large amount of your capital into such a large project, which would be your first, is staggeringly risky.
