Prices in the city are out of control, though there may be some good investment opportunities uptown where rent prices are out-pacing sales prices.... at least for now.My company specializes in the upper Manhattan market for rentals, but we do have full access to sales listings throughout the city of course, and have done deals in Brooklyn, Queens and the Bronx.

Agree very much, with real estate you can have more direct control on your investment, there is an awesome ability to leverage to scale and grow more quickly, and you get some great tax and income benefits along the way
