In some instances, it is all about speed and timing.

Just find great deals, find good tenants and weather the peaks and the valleys..

When you have an actual deal, the package will look very familiar to your potential investors and you are speeding up the process. 

My contingency plan was that the 2 people who hold the liens ahead of me would take some action to speed up the process, but as it stands, the owner of the 2010 lien appears to have done nothing and the owner of the 2011 lien has until June 2018 to do something.

So, as you continue to read and learn about the fundamentals (books) + other investors' stories (blogs|podcasts), you should start to tease out what peaks your interest.
