What length for financing term would be appropriate for acquiring lots and constructing single family homes for resale in today's market?

Is there a book or other resources you can recommend that discusses construction loans, bridge loans, and the final stabilized commercial loan (the latter I am well versed in).

Realized need constant cash flow to fund our marketing campaigns.Put business on hold to get degree in Construction Management.

As to other ventures in connection with RE, steel fabrication business, car lots, grocery store, auto service garage, construction firm/general contractor, C-store/car wash and a bar, cafe, lake resort.These came arising from basically partnering as a credit or business partner (or both) for under capitalized entrepreneurs who couldn't swing the RE purchase or lease of facilities.

Otherwise, you will end up with units that look like every other unit in LA (awful).All of your construction contracts should require the contractor to supply and install the generic stuff (drywall, etc.) but only install the finishes (which you purchase and provide).

Our youngest property was built in 1913, we have one from 1898, and one that says 1900 but due to location and construction it is likely much older.  

It will take a lot more time to do everything than you think it will and your wife will nag you because she doesn't like living in a construction zone.

Can buying the land and construction be wrapped up in one loan?

There is a huge amount of construction and improvements occurring in housing and  in commercial buildings .

I would like to know how PMs, CMs, and developers hire all the construction labors who are needed for projects.
