Vacationing and traveling to California can be great and many people love it once they visit. 

As an alternative option, and location dependent, you could put it on as a vacation rental.

I would say go spend four days and save your self 5k and then use that savings to take a nice little vacation.

Though I could bump it higher I'm still dropping 16% into my 401k and I also like a good vacation 1-2 times a year.I second what @Joe P. said.

So I got into the garage of a recently vacated property and the tenants left alot of half used paint in there.

I’m interested in something I could buy, maybe reno, hold on to and use as a short term vacation rental.

It's already furnished so may be a cool vacation hideaway (if you're over 55)

If this is going to be your only place there (and the renovations aren't huge), I'd suggest taking a two or three week vacation to Orlando this year to oversee the project yourself :)Good luck!

We are having a hard time finding an insurance company who will provide any policy for us to be able to use the property as a vacation rental with stays less than a minimum of 7 days.
