There were a lot of trial and errors in the beginning, but I made it through and invested successfully, and I still am to this day.I think that the benefits of hiring a "true" mentor and real estate investor, are, like a lot of the comments I read on this thread, to expedite your learning curve and also help you avoid a lot of the beginner mistakes and pitfalls that beginning investors do (I have made my share.)As far as the question, why "those gurus is if they made so much money in real estate?

I see so many avenues to REI but want to pick the path that can get me to my goals most efficiently.3. hopefully fast track my networking, as this is an area that I am probably weak in, I am not the one to start conversations in a group of people.I am looking at it from the perspective that it is more effective and efficient to learn a new skill with coaching/mentoring than to learn through trial and error.
