FPE "Stab-Lok" breakers (red strip across the front, often says Stab-Lok somewhere on the panel) fail to do what they were intended to do, which is trip when shorted or overloaded.

Between the recent thread about condos in Miami, too many episodes of "Burn Notice" and "Dexter" and yet another drive home through a snow storm, and a letter from the city complaining that one of the tenants wasn't quick enough with shoveling the sidewalks, I'm really thinking about a trip to Miami Beach.
