It was a promotional seminar and I had registered for the real workshop coming up in Oct 23, 24, 25 plus got a free tablet with all kinds of useful real estate resources and tools pre-loaded into it.  

While I promote wholesaling as a way to get started, I also - like a lot of BP'ers - think you need to be responsible in making offers to sellers; you need to KNOW that you can fund a deal via your buyers or you can really jerk around a homeowner who thinks they found a solution to their problem.  

If you think training is costly, consider how much more ignorance will cost you.You can find a lot of people that promote themselves on this site.

My contract expires Nov 30, 2015- I really don't want to extend as the seller wants to close asap and I promoted that I would do that for him... 

The other day I loaned money to a BP borrower buying an investment property, and a couple days later, I sold that mortgage note to another participant looking to hold mortgages and make a great ROI.I've been a part of other forums like BP that never really amounted to working with people on deals and wanted to publicly promote BiggerPockets for their unique and successful online forum!

I am not currently nor have I ever been paid to promote this company.  

The introduction of qualified mortgages (QM) as a provision of Dodd-frank recently enacted (Jan '14) could serve to promote portfolio lending as fewer and fewer loan products are eligible for delivery into the secondary market.

What I always advise is that people not only look at the advantages are but to check out the disadvantages too especially with bond programs, down payment assistance programs, or other subsidy type programs that serve a niche or exist to promote housing to a sector of the economy that most needs help such as low income, redevelopment of an area, etc. 

Banks still understand the people move, change jobs, get promoted and that's just the way of life.
