Most of the time you talk to people overseas in customer service departments, the defective item sent back in takes weeks to get to the warehouse or it get's lost at the warehouse etc.

They provide a custom built Podio work space that I think should solve a lot of the problems you are having.

Inspector also noted window screen was broken and needs to be replaced, paint on kitchen cabinets was chipped and needs repainting, paint on multiple walls was chipped and needs repainting, and the garbage disposal was not in working order and needs to be fixed.

Doing the reno now  I would install one, you can get one for about the same price as the cabinet it will replace and if they don't want one they can store stuff in it.
