I think First time homebuyers and lower middle income buyers who need to be under $150-200k appreciate an HGTV style makeover in a 1500-2000sqft doublewide vs a 1200-1300 sq ft 1950s -1960s era ranch in need of a remodel and upgrades (seemingly the only options available to them in the same price point. ) Caveat; this would never fly in CA, Boston, NY, philly, etc. broader acceptance of doublewides is sort of a regional thing I think.
