For this reason, I have set my sights on multi family and storage facilities - as when there are market corrections, people tend to downsize their living quarters and relocate to Apartments, and have an abundance of excess "stuff" that can't be sold as quickly in a depressed market.

@Elizabeth ColegroveHopefully you have some time to answer this question, as you seem very knowledgeable in the VA side of things.Occupancy requirements say that you must "intend" to live in the residence and I couldn't find a specified amount of time on an "official" site or document although people tend to assume it's 12 months.
