This is in a small town and the only post office.

We are currently investing in smaller towns around Timmins. 

Most of the areas of town with strong rent to price ratios are also places where it's relatively more difficult to attract tenants and also where turnovers are more common.

Otherwise, you would look up the applicable construction code for your area and the associated licensure or registration requirements for various trades/contractors --- just call the town! 

I’m hoping to see if there are members who have invested in those areas and which towns may be best suited for those types of homes. 

Or any of those larger cities.Get outside the city limits along major roads.Find county or small town municipalities within 1 to 10 miles of the San Diego City limits.Learn their zoning and zoning map.Look for the biggest/nastiest piece of ground that you can bulldoze and flatten.  2 acres or greater.Do two business models. 

The town seemed open to possibly negotiating on the time line.
