The challenge that you have is that she has concrete data to support her investment decisions and can thus draw a quantitative map regarding where the two of you will end up financially at the time of retirement.

I work 11-13 hours on concrete floors so I really like to put some heat and message on my lower back and shoulders.

It seems like there would be many opportunities to take some of the older condos/awkward layouts and have a fair amount of potential for flip profit but it seems that this is a far less popular choice.When you compare equivalent (size and relative location) condos from older buildings to new builds there is a MASSIVE price discrepency: many new builds starting at 300k in the core with older similar sized and neighborhood properties going for less than 200k (but very dated).

Are you saying that you have to pour a concrete basement floor (because it is either dirt or the existing concrete is fracturing)?  

It depends of course on the size but I recall the window price being in the $500 range plus installation ($1000 range total) unless you're cutting concrete etc.
