Different towns have different rules/codes/$$s involved.In many towns, you are exempted from having a CO if your house was built before a certain date, which is usually the date the when buildings department was created.Living in NY, there are a lot of homes without COs.

I've done some research and have discovered that churches are exempt from paying property taxes as long as the building is used solely for religous activities.

I was due 4 payments of $500 and would be rid of the Mobile Home in 6 months, August of this year, or at least I hoped.New numbers:Started: -$2970Out: $420 Lot rentIn: $4000 down paymentI was now in the clear $610.A few months in to the new year I got a letter from the tax assessor saying the since the home no longer carried a homestead exemption the taxes had doubled.

If you purchase house 2 for your primary residence, then you may not want to put that in an LLC while you are living in it, so that you get the deductions for mortgage interest and property taxes, plus any homestead exemptions provided by your county or state.

And, you do know that the modification of any note by a note holder is an extension of new debt, just because you own the debt doesn't exempt you from Dodd-Frank, so again, work with a servicer for modifications.
