Put the original documents in a safe deposit box or have a lawyer keep it and give both parties copies.As you complete the project make sure everyone is communicating and that all questions, issues, concerns, and disputes are handled quickly so they do not fester.

While you can communicate with the lender about your interest in purchasing the note, you won't be able to communicate about the loan at all unless you have a authorization to release from the borrower, that includes his loan number, social security number and signature.
