I am originally from Houston, Texas where I was born and raised.

So going around to different agents you are still getting the same quotes with very minor variations.Citizens is expensive and it could go sky rocket. 

I'm a loan officer for a hard money lender for flips and new construction that operates in Dallas / Fort Worth, and Houston, and am looking for ways to increase my reach in DFW.DFW seems to be a very different animal from the rest of Texas as far as what investors are looking for.

On about the 4th day, I made the appointments.Over the next week, I wrote more business than any agent in the southeastern region of the country, cities like Atlanta, Miami, New Orleans, Dallas, Houston, Little Rock or anything east of the big muddy south of Atlanta, all out of one small town housing development.

I'm marketing guy who lives in Simsbury, CT, and I provide online marketing services for a real estate agent based in the Houston, TX area. 

Would anyone recommend a REIA club in Houston my wife and I could join that would really help us get started?

I'm interested in looking at West Michigan too - have to believe there's probably some places in Grand Rapids or maybe Kalamazoo (shudder) as well as perhaps higher end places in Rochester, Troy, Royal Oak, etc...I have family in Houston so I'm familiar with it, but I don't have any business connections or understanding of the market. 

I am excited about the networking and learning opportunities the site offers.I little about myself: I have graduated from college about 2 years ago and moved to Houston to work in the Oil and Gas Industry.
