However if you don’t know how to do a good feather job on it when you patch it you can really make it look terrible but the same can be said for a Sheetrock repair.

If the roof is really only 10 years old (not "about 10 years" which means probably 20) then I would consider just repairing it if you can locate the leaks and it looks decent.
