If the property is then forced into a foreclosure auction, the first mortgage would be paid off, then any senior liens get paid, and then the lien that was assigned to you would be paid (in full) -if there is enough equity in the property, or you could win the property at auction for just what remains on the mortgage and senior liens.

And you will have a more difficult time maintaining it if you fail to visit on a regular basis.Section 8 is not a automatic win (or loss, for that matter) for landlords.

When it burns your tenants will sue you and will probably win.$8k seems high for a service upgrade, but I'm guessing that also included replacing all the sub-panels in addition to the main.
