HSBC can help you get checking accounts setup in almost any country.We are taxed on our world wide income in the US, but that’s not that big of deal, as we have treaties with other counties to help avoid double tax, and you can always setup up IBC in Cook Island, or St Kitts & Nevis, thus off shoring the income earned outside of the US, if you bring it home you will have to pay taxes on it.

All I can think of is Texas has been thru Oil Boom and Bust and has tighter bank restrictions.If you can come up with the $400k as down payment, that is probably the better way to go than the SBA loan.

Here are my takeaways directly from their presentation:-US best cities for millennials-Most diverse city in the US-Best seaport in North America-#2 top metro for job growth-#1 best hospital for cancer-22 fortune 500 companies, 2nd to NY-3.1% unemployment-6 out of every 10 jobs in Texas will be added in Houston through the year 2040-Growing 4x’s faster than the US population-2nd fastest growing economy in America-The Texas Medical Center is the largest medical center in the world-21 hospitals-8 academic and research institution-21,000 physicians, scientists, and researchers-110,000 employees-170,000 operations annually-Upcoming $1.5B expansion that broke ground in 2019 and is expected to be completed in 20222-New campus is expected to have a $5.2B impact on Houston and create projected 30K new jobs-University of Houston-$1B planned expansion over the next 3 years-Located extremely close to the medical center and downtown-New $100M college of medicine scheduled to break ground in Spring 2020Basically, Houston is not all about oil and gas!!!

I agree with @Joe Villeneuve,He's an Architect, and knows his stuff.I also did a mockup for a Class B SFH.Pushed out a wall, cut a doorway, boxed in the water heater (check local building codes re this), added pantry cabinets (at the expense of counter space (not everyone is full on cooking 3 squares a day, with the readiness of microwave and ready to heat oven foods.)

On the flip side though with gas if electrical goes out they still have a way to cook but this still isn’t enough of a pro to offset the worry.

If stench doesn't go, paint the subfloor and baseboard with Kilz Original primer (oil-based).
