Coming from the North shore area I am unfamiliar with the markets in this area and am looking for advise on where to invest.

I'm 23 and I currently live in Massachusetts on the north shore (generally an expensive area).

So when I was looking for houses I made sure to look for either a two bedroom house with a basement and rehab it to a temporary living space, or a three bedroom so I could have other people live with me.

A better deal for example: in St Clair Shores you can purchase a 3 bed brick ranch anywhere between 70-120 K.

Much less than the $21k planned, but they quickly redeployed their funds in the next available investment. 2420 Upas, San Diego, CA (across from Balboa Park)We provided $150k temporary gap funding with a local rehabber for $1M home.

It is pretty standard for a circuit court judge to issue a temporary restraining order stopping a foreclosure, usually in effect for 60 or 90 days, with cause merely stated in the petition, no actual documentary proof required.  

I'm on the North Shore. 

The owner put an anchor system in place to shore up the wall, that they claim is guaranteed for 23 more years.  

As I am reading all the responses (thank you all) my wheels are spinning and perhaps a private investor looking for some cash flow would be in order for temporary (12 month) funds.
