Making connections in the community may lead to business opportunities and offer insightful information about the local market.Look into internet platforms where properties could be listed in addition to more conventional approaches.

Suggestions for types of investing?

I suggest you return to square one and rethink your entire setup. 

I am suggesting for your 100th podcast add a fifth famous 4 question.How long is it going to take you to retire,  or what constitutes retirement for you?

There are RE meetups that I'd suggest looking into as well (Brandon Rush / Ryan Luby / Stephanie Cabral host some in central CT).

If you are doing quick flips (4 months or less), I would suggest Franklinton, Hilltop, or any part of Linden.

Additionally if someone is aware of good rental management local companies, let me know. 

They are substantially changing other terms in the lease by asking for an additional option to renew, asking us to refund the security deposit, asking us to allow assignment without our consent, and insisting on us paying a commission amounting to almost $10K for the privilege of giving up all that.I just wanted a sanity check that this should not be all that difficult or onerous on us!
