It really is a beautiful spot overlooking the bay and city. 

I've lived in this city since I was born, know the area well and have numerous connections, so I feel like I'm set up to start off as well as anyone else would be.At the end of the day, I also realize I'm not stuck at the first brokerage I choose and could always switch if one place is not working out as expected.

You may want to explore some incentives offered by cities/counties and even lenders when dealing with this type of project.

Are there risks that I should consider that wouldn't be a factor in the twin cities?

I started in Milwaukee after my company has reloacted me here from Austria and I was looking for an alternative to Wallstreet and 401k - so it was not my choice and at the time (fresh of the boat) I would have preferred a more exciting city like NY or LA.
