Banks don’t like that, nor for resale.Realize this property is part of your family history, but would have an Immobiliarie research the property and identify all issues and give a repair estimate before digging deeper into this.

But if your residence is a single family or duplex, you can pull all of the permits yourself under the owner-builder exemption of the FL statutes.

I believe I read a story where someone was purchasing a multi family and the seller ran to the tenants and renewed the leases that were expiring in a couple months at the then current (below market) rent.
