How i would start in your position is continuing educating yourself on what types of rental strategies resonate with you.

The proposed legislation would prohibit IRAs from holding privately-placed equity and debt securities and other investments that require the IRA owner to meet certain minimum financial, educational or licensing requirements.

Since I have a spouse who is not interested in live-in flips, I will be looking at already renovated properties or cosmetic fixers.We have no timeline so I am trying to get into as many homes during this Seller's market to educate myself on all of the variables involved with a historic home.

My biggest opportunity in these conversations is to educate people.  

EDUCATE YOURSELF - yes, it will take time, but will lead to a selection that better meets your expectations & avoids potentially costly surprises!
