I have read about it on bigger pockets but have also heard that from other books and articles.

:) I will read up a little more about this, but I really love the idea of holding on to this property and raising rents.

If you want to read up on it I'd recommend starting with the two of David Lindahl books and Gino Barbaro's book.Best!

One piece of advice that I can give is to read and learn what you can about a subject before asking questions, and when you do ask questions, make them specific.

I live in Norwalk, CA and since most of the info that I had read or watched suggested that it's best to start marketing in your own area (to help get familiar with your own market) I've been marketing in Artesia, CA which is less than a mile away.
