The properties you inherit are rarely the properties you would have bought with your own money. 

It hasn't happened since but I usually have to have my plumber out every couple years when the back house starts to report issues with their sinks and tub not draining well.At this point I'm trying to decide if I should go ahead and redo the whole system while we're out there and consider it a capital improvement benefit that will last for as long as I'll own the property. 

None use their own money they use money of others. broker for 4 other companies they all work the exact same way except they dnt require for you to get certified.

Is this something these assisted living places do or do the develop and own themselves.  

The vast majority of lawsuits against Landlords are for wrongful eviction, security deposit disputes, and Fair Housing Violations.

However, I am an investor with 20 units I own and I manage another 6 for my kids!  

This year, I decided I'm going to do whatever it takes to own my first investment property by the end of the year.

currently don't own any property, have no desire to own property. but the renovating to increase rent is a smart long term play!

Buying units where I am is often owned by older landlords that have left the rent very low.

But because I sold it for 3 times what I got it for, in 10 years time, I did OK.I owned multi's in NYC where I rented to many good tenants who got tired of being turned down by condo or coop boards and rented from me instead.
