I considered renting prior to moving, 100% the most logical thing to do, but given how much we've moved in the past year, for our mental state we'd like to find a place where we can settle.

They usually want to get out because it's mentally and sometimes physically taxing for that age or they just want to be fully retired from everything.

I wish I had the mentality to take this step at such a young age.

Between the hassle of the local unrest, the homelessness, the drug issues, the mentally ill in the streets, the oppressive ordinances, high cost of living, and police protection being called into question, I would advice commuting into Seattle and living in one of the satellite communities.

A large proportion of people have no idea what it takes to buy an apartment building (the mental strength and patience required is no joke, frankly) and this is coming from someone who currently has a multifamily deal under contract as of this writing.
