This is why I am not sure what to do.Can I write a new contract stating I will let the buyer proceed to ##/## date, but if we are not closing, then I can accept another offer and put the property back on the market now?

We continued to live there for three more years, accepting partial rent from our roommates.2007, wedding bells.  

If your business fails, I wouldn't want a house back that would take thousands to return to an acceptable single family house.

Is that an acceptable way to do it?
