Everyone is flipping properties in this area, they would essentially be raising your homes property values one sale at a time. 

If you have lived in that property for 2 out of the 5 years prior to sale you can exempt the first $250K of gain ($500K if married) tax free!!

My family has a property in Colorado that is currently for sale, but we are considering taking it off the market and keeping it as a vacation rental.
