Something I will have to do.Have you developed single family homes?

Am I better suited getting into a multi-family or a single family home and look at potentially adding value somehow? 

My family owns a 2 BR 1 BA in the area and I have looking at using this property as a STR, as long as the house is zoned for it.

I’ve decided I want to start out with small multi family properties and use either a buy and hold strategy or the BRRRR strategy, depending on the time investments.I love engineering, I’ve been working as a full time engineer for 8 months now about.

It’s also likely useful to picture who your ideal tenant is…families, students, contract workers, etc. that’s also going to greatly dictate where you look.

Where can I find basic template to write a mortgage for family.   

Is it better to invest in one 3-4 unit multi family first or 2-3 cheaper single family homes? 

Property appraised for 245k; however, it was classified as a c5 which prevented most lenders from issuing conventional financing.I contested the appraisal and the appraiser held their ground, but their supervisor told me that if I slapped a coat of paint on the cabinets (these needed to be replaced due to wood rot) it would be an easy c4.I paid $520 for a new appraisal, contacted all my family and friends, deep cleaned the home and put a fresh coat of paint on the rotted cabinets and over the doors.

I don't love the numbers for buying again, but if it's family you can work something out that works for everyone.
