@Jaron Walling, I met with three contractors, walked the property, discussed what we wanted todo and got estimates for their work.

Practical items to care for are: loose hardware particularly on chairs, tables, or stools, a fresh coat of paint on walls and baseboards, loose drawers, fumigation, bed frames, new linen, loose ceiling fans, functional electrical outlets.

I've actually never seen cabinets where the wall cabinets are a different color than the base cabinets. 

Sometimes you will need to knock down a few walls or remove closets to add in that extra bedroom, but again, it will pay dividends long term. 

This is state specific, so you need to know your state law, but I think you might have reasonable success for obvious damage - holes punched in walls, for example - but you probably will lose if you have to go to court on the rest.

So the wall is empty now.

I read that you can use an adjoining room but you would need something bigger than a door between them (50% of shared wall)I want to know before I get egress company to come in.

Any suggestions on what to do with wood paneling on the walls or these old cabinets?
