Note even here, though, that from all that I've read (a lot of this is reddit anecdotes), it was almost a one-size-fits-all approach, they were tearing out 1-3 year old carpets for new(er) carpet, painting over freshly painted walls, and so on.

In a recent flood where river water rose to 5" above my garage lowest elevation I used a $75 sump pump from The Home Depot connected to it a 5/8" garden hose and dump it into a storm drain (which actually drains back out to the river).

A good amount of guests book houses to cook instead of going out and they always seem to mention in reviews how well stocked our kitchens are with tons of fresh spices, oils, pots/pans, French coffee press, coffee grinder, all the cooking pans/pots/tools, etc.

Over time, as more seeds are planted, if I tend the garden well I expect increasing harvests every year.When the harvests are bountiful enough to meet my expenses, plus a fair amount of excess, then that would be a good time to leave the 9 to 5 if I choose to.Not in any hurry, my job is very secure, pays well, and I can do it as long as need be.
